Welcome to Mary’s new website where there is lots to smile about.
After qualifying as a dentist at Guys Hospital Dental School in 1986, Mary took up a series of hospital appointments in Maxillo-facial surgery and Paediatric Dentistry until gaining her Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1990. After a short spell in general dentistry she returned to Guys for a three year Orthodontic Postgraduate Training Programme.
In 1993, Mary was awarded Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of England combined with an MSc in Orthodontics. Since qualification, she has divided her professional work between a part-time post as an Associate Specialist in Orthodontics at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead and Orthodontic treatment of patients in Specialist Practice. Mary has been incredibly fortunate to have great support from local dentists and orthodontic technicians, treating a fantastic set of patients in a wonderful part of Sussex. After nearly 27 years of sharing practices (latterly with Total Orthodontics, part of BUPA dental care), Mary is thrilled to have the opportunity to branch out with an exciting new venture. She is relocating within Haywards Heath to run her own practice in a family style environment with an emphasis on family values.
Mary has a keen interest in the treatment of complex orthodontic problems with fixed braces including adults requiring a combination of orthognathic surgery and orthodontic intervention. She enjoys working with talented colleagues and teaching post-graduate students at the Queen Victoria Hospital. This post also allows her opportunities to maintain contact with the latest developments in clinical and surgical procedures and techniques. Mary specialises in fixed brace treatment, but also offers aligner treatment for patients with mild orthodontic problems. Mary is registered as a Specialist Orthodontist with the General Dental Council and is a member of the British Orthodontic Society and British Dental Association.
